Our 2019 production will be Beauty and the Beast.
Step into the enchanted world of Broadway's modern classic! Based on the Academy Award-winning animated feature, the stage version includes all of the wonderful songs written by Alan Menken and the late Howard Ashman, along with new songs by Alan Menken and Tim Rice. The original Broadway production ran for over thirteen years and was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical.
The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a provincial town, and the Beast, who is really a young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. If the Beast can learn to love and be loved, the curse will end and he will be transformed into his former self. But time is running out. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his household will be doomed for all eternity.

Margy Horowitz, Director, Co-founder, & President
Margy Horowitz began her musical career at the age of 5 in Chicago, taking both piano and solfege lessons from Livia Ayal, a student of Zoltán Kodály and Béla Bartók. In just a few years she was accompanying her friends in school plays and choirs. She began teaching piano at the age of 12 and continued throughout high school and college, where she majored in music. She also performed in her college’s theater department in several dramatic plays and musicals.
Margy earned a Master’s Degree in Piano Pedagogy from Northeastern Illinois University and followed that by working as an editor for Clavier Magazine (a publication for piano teachers). After relocating to Los Angeles in 1998, she worked as an editor of sheet music for Alfred Publishing and took on a few piano students as well. In just a year, she was instructing over 50 students a week.
In 2005, feeling the urge to perform again, Margy founded the Jewish Women’s Repertory Company and has produced, directed, and accompanied a full-length musical each winter since then.
Margy currently lives in Beverly Hills with her husband, Jeremy, and her two children, Julia and Nathan.

JWRC Mission Statement
The Jewish Women's Repertory Company was founded in February 2005 by Margy Horowitz and Linda Freedman to offer Jewish women an opportunity to sing, dance, and act for all-female audiences. Our goal is to have fun performing while raising money for worthwhile charities.
The JWRC is an official 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
DID YOU KNOW? Every year, The Jewish Women's Repertory Company donates a portion of the proceeds from its shows to the Family Violence Project, a program of Jewish Family Service of Los Angeles.

Cantor Michelle Stone
Vice President
Cantor Michelle Stone has her Bachelors in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies from Brandeis University and her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. She has her Masters in Sacred Music from the Academy for Jewish Religion, CA. Michelle has performed in seven JWRC productions, including playing Annie in Annie Get Your Gun, Fantine in Les Miserables, Martha in The Secret Garden, and the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods. Michelle is the Los Angeles City Manager for the Shalom Hartman Institute of North America and has had the pleasure of working as a cantor in communities throughout Los Angeles and Orange County.
Reyna Zack
Vice President, Communications
Reyna Zack holds a Bachelor of Music from Temple U. and a MFA from CalArts, both in voice performance. She was a soprano in the New York Choral Society and was honored to perform at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. She continues to perform opera and musical theater around Los Angeles. You may have seen Reyna as Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie; Lily in The Secret Garden; and Cinderella in Into the Woods with JWRC. She also co-directed JWRC's 2015 Fiddler on the Roof, and was the music director for The Music Man.
Raised on classical, jazz music, and the American musical, Reyna currently teaches private voice lessons, is a family photographer, and is the Director of Communications at Temple Beth Am. She created this website you are looking at.
Dahlia Carr
Treasurer
Dahlia Carr, a native of Los Angeles, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular & Cell Biology and Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley, and her Medical Degree from New York Medical College. She is a great fan of a cappella music, having performed in and directed groups at Cal and NYMC. She has also been involved in productions with the Berkeley Contemporary Opera Company and was a principal member of Westwind International Folk Ensemble in San Fancisco. She has performed in eight JWRC productions, which included portraying Jean Valjean in Les Miserables (2012), The Pirate King in Pirates of Penzance (2008), Frank Butler in Annie Get Your Gun (2009), Archbald in The Secret Garden, Trevor Greydon in Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Cinderella’s Prince in Into The Woods (2014). She is a rheumatologist in a private practice in Beverly Hills and is on staff at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. Dahlia lives in Los Angeles with her husband, Elan, and her three children.
Jazmon DuBrow
Secretary
Jazmon DuBrow has been a theater kid her whole life. She performed and worked tech in productions in school and with the JCC's J*Company in San Diego in Annie, Singin' In The Rain and Into The Woods, among others. She has been behind the scenes at the JWRC for the last 6 years and occasionally onstage for a moment or two as well. In addition to theater, she works from home and teaches Hebrew School.
